For the second time my critical thinking senses are tingling and I'm getting the feeling that the music industry has lied to us Punk kids about what Punk really is.
The first time I had this feeling was in 2003 when I was listening to this Pop Punk band who played in England in 1976 called Generation X. Their lead singer was Billy Idol who was a scrawny kid no taller than 5 foot 2 and no bigger than 130 lbs. In 1980 Generation X got banned in England, so Billy Idol was brought to America for his solo career. A couple of months later he came out as a 6 foot tall, buff as fuck, He-man look alike. There was no way in hell that the American Billy Idol was the same person as the British Billy Idol. Like really does the music industry think that Punk kids are that stupid. All you had to do was look at pictures of Generation X and then look at Pictures of Billy Idol during his solo career. But back then I kind of thought that stuff like that was only done to Pop Punk bands and not real Punk bands.
So anyways, the Ramones had always been and still are one of my favorite bands. However, I'm having a hard time believing that a band, where 3 of the 4 original members were on Thorizene, were capable of touring constantly all over the world and producing a 3 to 4 hour show that people would fall in love with. People on those kinds of medication need to be monitored by a doctor which means that they aren't going anywhere. Besides how can somebody who can't bathe himself, can't feed himself, can't dress and undress himself and his usual fragrance is stink bomb be capable of singing for about 3 hours every night, Having a different groupie in a different hotel room every night and then get on a plane first thing in the morning to fly to a different city. Further more the only people accompanying him, while touring all around the world, were; the other band members and a few roadies. Besides that, Joey and Johnny hated each other. Johnny was also another piece of work who would go around assaulting people for no reason. Sometimes he was calm and then all of a sudden, right out of the blue, he would become very violent. Johnny worshipped Charles Manson and fantasied about being a serial killer.  This would make for some serious neglect on the part of every single mental health worker who was involved in the lives of those two. Next there was Dee Dee who was always strung out on heroine and usually too dope sick to play base for 3 hours. Everybody and there grandmother knows that Sid Vicious couldn't do it so why would it be any different for Dee Dee. This was the reason why, if it is true, that Tommy developed major depression while on the road with them. More proof of this is that Stuart knew the Ramones when he was in Salty Dog and his band jammed with the Ramones in New York City. He was able to confirm that just because the Ramones were a band, their mental illnesses didn't go away. Finally, I've noticed that part of the Ramones uniform included dark sun glasses under hair with bangs that cover most of their faces. This would allow for stand ins to be slipped in while Joey was in the mental institution and Johnny and Dee Dee were in Jail. Maybe I'm wrong but this is just my opinion.
